October 12, 2023, MEDIA, PA — Wesley Enhanced Living Main Line’s Skilled Nursing Center earned a Gold Award in the McKnight’s Excellence in Technology Awards. The senior living community was recognized in the Quality category for instituting VirtuSense’s VSTAlert, a system that minimizes fall risks using infrared sensors to identify a resident’s intent to get out of bed 31-65 seconds before they actually do.
“Each year, we are excited to see, recognize and share examples of how technology is being used in big and small ways to improve the lives of older adults and those who care for them,” said McKnight’s Editorial Director John O’Connor.
Wesley Enhanced Living Main Line Director of Nursing Kim Ratliff said the results of using VSTAlert speak for themselves: rooms that had VSTAlert monitoring registered ZERO falls in the five months of this year, which has led to better care for all patients.
McKnight’s Senior Living is a national media brand providing news, perspective, and analysis for owners, operators, and other leaders of senior housing.
