Our Wesley Enhanced Living Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center here at Pennypack Park has been thoughtfully redesigned with inviting fireplaces, cozy seating nooks, and engaging activity areas. We transcend what is traditionally thought of as a “nursing home,” to provide the best supportive care available in a setting that emphasizes safety, comfort, socialization, and respect for each individual.
Resident accommodations include private or semi-private rooms with a privacy wall, traditionally styled cherry wood furniture and wall mounted 19-inch flat screen televisions. To help residents look their best, bedside salon services are also available for hair care and manicures.
Rehabilitative Therapy Suite
Short-term and long-term physical, occupational and speech-language services are available to all Wesley Enhanced Living residents to help them regain function after an illness or injury. Therapists work with residents in our new, state-of-the-art therapy center which includes high-tech equipment such as recumbent bikes and a full ADL (Activities of Daily Living) Suite including a working kitchen and laundry facilities which enables patients to comfortably and safely practice basic daily tasks to help with the transition back to their own home. When appropriate, therapists work with residents in their room or apartment to help ensure that they are able to manage bathing and dressing activities.
How to Pay for Nursing Care
For short-term rehabilitation stays, Medicare or a Medicare Managed Care plan will pay for a majority of the care in a nursing facility while on a skilled stay. For those with long-term care needs, the cost of care is paid from the individual’s funds. Once depleted, a Medicaid application is submitted by the facility with the assistance of the individual and/or the individual’s family. Not all skilled nursing facilities have Medicaid certified beds. All Wesley Enhanced Living communities have Medicaid certified beds, which is helpful to residents requiring long-term care following a skilled stay. Wesley Enhanced Living will work with court-appointed guardians for long-term care placements.
