Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing

At the Wesley Enhanced Living Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Facility, residents may recuperate after an illness or surgery, or receive ongoing care that emphasizes quality, compassion and the dignity of each individual.

Our staff provides a comprehensive range of services including wound care, intravenous therapy, tube feedings and many other treatments.  A medical director who is a board-certified geriatrician directs each resident’s plan of care in collaboration with nurses, social workers, dietitians, a therapeutic recreation specialist, clergy, a psychiatrist, and nursing assistants.

The center offers attractive, home-like private or semi-private rooms, as well as cozy living areas where residents can relax, socialize with family, and participate in activities.  During the warmer months, residents and visitors can also enjoy our peaceful grounds, which are surrounded by a small hardwood forest inhabited by birds and wildlife.  Professional bedside salon services are also available for hair care and manicures to help residents look and feel their best.

Rehabilitative Therapy

Physical, occupational and speech-language services are available to all Wesley Enhanced Living at Stapeley residents to help them regain function after an illness or injury during a long- or short-term stay.  When appropriate, therapists work with residents in their room or apartment to help ensure that they are able to manage bathing and dressing activities.  In addition to traditional therapy services, our staff offers expertise in the management of special nutritional challenges, pain, and dementia.

How to Pay for Nursing Care

For short-term rehabilitation stays, Medicare or a Medicare Managed Care plan will pay for a majority of the care in a nursing facility while on a skilled stay. For those with long-term care needs, the cost of care is paid from the individual’s funds.  Once depleted, a Medicaid application is submitted by the facility with the assistance of the individual and/or the individual’s family.  Not all skilled nursing facilities have Medicaid certified beds. All Wesley Enhanced Living communities have Medicaid certified beds, which is helpful to residents requiring long-term care following a skilled stay.  Wesley Enhanced Living will work with court-appointed guardians for long-term care placements.
